Opal ring
Bespoke one of a kind hand made 925 recycled sterling silver Opal ring. The exquisite colours which radiate from this ‘fire’ Opal are stunning. Set in a push over setting with two large silver spikes hand carved which sit proudly either side of the opal with granulation detail completes this unique ring.
Opal has been linked to much superstition particularly during the 1800’s when in Sir Walter Scott’s novel Anne of Geierstein- about a women wrongly accused of being a demoness who dies after a drop of holy water is split on her opal talisman, destroying the colour.
Apparently Opals largely went out of fashion due to the connotations linked to the book…luckily in the 21st century we can once again appreciate the true glory of the Opal.
